The main challenge for this day was to somehow move Goodwill and the John Holt support boat over the Jebba dam.
First things first though as the local community had decided to bestow a chieftaincy upon Steve Dunstone. This involved a ceremony which took place beside the river and required Steve to be dressed appropriately in local apparel, complete with headwear. Steve is now Chief Steve Dunstone and Special Advisor on Water Resources to the local people at Jebba.
The main task of the day then started whilst part of the team returned to Bajibo to present that community with schoolbooks. The movement of the boat required the use of an aged trailer attached to a tractor. Unfortunately the tractor driver refused to allow even the tractor tyres to become wet so the trailer was detached and moved into the water. This allowed the support boat to be floated onto the trailer which was then manhandled to the tractor. Thinking that the hard work was over team allowed the tractor to set off to the other side of the dam.
A short while later we received word that the trailer had broken and the team rushed to see the damage. The trailer turned out to have broken into several pieces and was completely unusable but the support boat, although scratched after a 10m slide along the road, was otherwise undamaged.

After much hassle with a crane that broke and became stuck next to the stricken support boat, the vessel was finally moved to its required location at a village called Magi with help from the locals.

Goodwill's transportation ran more smoothly and by sunset both of the boats were in the river near to Magi with the villagers promising to take good care of them.

Meanwhile, the other members of the team had driven to Bajibo to a warm welcome and an audience with the village head. Gifts of a plaque from the City of Truro along with a number of boxes of schoolbooks and educational materials were presented by Simon Hendra. Several local dignitories made sincere speeches and Caroline was given the honour of receiving the title of Saigi. A Saigi is the only female member of the committee of King Makers. This committee decides upon the selection of a new Emir and so this was a great privilege.
